The Liga Puertorriqueña and its Oncology Hospital Dr. Isaac Gonzalez Martinez is proud to have as part of its Medical Faculty the gastroenterologist oncologist, Dr. Marcia Cruz Correa, who directs the new Gastroenterology Center of our hospital. She obtained her doctoral degree with this specialty and Research and Genetic Epidemiology at John Hopkins University in the State of Maryland. She directs the Women's Committee of the American Gastroenterology Association and was president of the Puerto Rico Gastroenterology Association. She holds the position of Director of the Compliance and Development Research Center and co-director and principal investigator of the Clinical and Translational Research Consortium of Puerto Rico. Additionally, she serves as president of the Colorectal Cancer Coalition of Puerto Rico. Dr. Marcia Cruz Correa was the first Puerto Rican to be appointed as a member of the National Cancer Advisory Board by President Barak Obama for the 2011-2016 term.
