Two Puerto Rican stilt walkers to the Guinness World Record!

JONATÁN RIVERA AND ALAN RAYNEL MOJICA SURPASS THE FEAT ACHIEVED BY CHINA IN 2003
Both young men, who have been official volunteers of "Give Life by Walking with Raymond" for a decade, performed "24 hours on stilts for the Oncologic".
(Fajardo, Puerto Rico / June 20, 2020) - Right at 2:28 a.m. today, Saturday, Puerto Ricans Jonatán Rivera and Alan Raynel Mojica broke the Guinness World Record of 49.4 miles walking on stilts for 24 hours, which had been set from September 30 to October 1, 2003 in China. The young men completed 50 miles at that time!
The stilt walkers, well known on the island for being part of the volunteers of "Da vida caminando con Raymond" -an event of comedian Raymond Arrieta (Telemundo)- achieved almost 12 more miles at 9:00 AM when the period of "24 hours on stilts for the Oncologico" ended.
This feat, which took place at the athletic track of the Hipólito Robles Sports Complex in Fajardo, was a benefit for the Dr. Isaac González Martínez Oncology Hospital, which has stopped receiving funds due to the cancellation of activities due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Jonatán Rivera (33 years old, from Luquillo, now residing in the state of Florida) and Alan Raynel Mojica (26 years old, native of Corozal) have been directly linked to this noble cause for a decade. Donations were made through ATH Móvil, at 787 504-4454.
"It was super painful and hot. We were focused and with brutal support from the volunteers of the 'Da vida caminando con Raymond' walk, friends and the Municipality of Fajardo. There was even music, batucada. We always kept a lot of energy," said Jonatán Rivera.
Alan Raynel Mojica maintained, for his part, "we had already tried it once and we knew it was possible, but we didn't imagine it was going to be so hard" . The stilt walker refers to the fact that they had attempted to break the Guinness record in 2018, which they did with 55.3 miles in 24 hours, but did not comply with all the rules.
Both stilt walkers are extremely grateful to the Mayor of Fajardo, José Aníbal "Joey" Meléndez Méndez, for the unconditional support of his Municipal Administration, providing the venue for the event, the Emergency Medical Services and the Municipal Police, food and water.
The day began yesterday, Friday, at 9:00 AM. There was a change of venue, as it had previously been reported that it would be at the track of the Guillermo Angulo Sports Complex in Carolina.
