First Radical Cystectomy Surgery in PR

Radical cystectomy is a surgery usually performed to treat invasive or non-invasive bladder cancer, which consists in the removal of the bladder. In women, In the case of men, the prostate and seminal vesicles are removed. After removing the bladder, the surgeon creates a new way to store and eliminate urine.

The Oncology Hospital continues to be a pioneer and on this occasion we have the privilege of having in our Medical Faculty the urologist, Dr. Eduardo Canto, who performed the first Radical Cystectomy Surgery in Puerto Rico.
