The discovery of the "Intestinal Schistosotomiasis (Bilharzia)" in the American continent is officially confirmed. Together with Dr. Pedro Malaret, they create the Municipal Commission for the Study of "Uncinariasis and Bilharzia" in the city of Mayagϋez.
